Selfie Stick
Reverse Engineering
Functional
OLD
This is a reverse engineering project for PLTW. A selfie stick from Five Below was dissasembled and modeled in Autodesk Inventor, and then improvements were made.

The original selfie stick is very lightweight which allows for easy carry. having the phone at the top of the stick can lead to falling phones. the stick is hard to keep straight while taking a picture, and also the holder top does not hold all types of phones. There are many small parts that would scatter if it was broken.
NEW
Functional

The new selfie stick is much simpler than the old. there are only 5 parts as opposed to 9 in the original. To prevent the phone from falling, there is a phone holder on the bottom, and the phone connects to the camera on the top instead of havning the phone itself taking the picture.
Aesthetic
OLD

The original selfie stick is very bland. there is very little color. the product is supposed to be used in a party atmosphere, but does not fit with that theme. The dullness could cause oit to blend in and get lost.
Aesthetic
NEW

The new selfie stick is much more colorful than the original. It fits in with the party atmosphere where it is most commonly used. It now stands out, which will reduce the chance of it being lost.
